Please note that Stefan Struve is ineligible due to inactivity. Also note the rankings voted by a panel and previous rankings in parenthesis:

1. Cain Velasquez (1)

UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez is still on the mend but is currently expected to face Fabricio Werdum upon his return.

2. (tied) Fabricio Werdum (2)

Following his victory over Travis Browne, Fabricio Werdum is next in line for a UFC heavyweight title shot bar an injury or other circumstances. There is the slight possibility that we could see Werdum coaching opposite Velasquez on TUF Latin America edition.

2. (tied) Junior dos Santos (3)

Junior dos Santos will get his chance at a rebound win against up and coming Stipe Miocic at The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 3 Finale May 31. However, having been handled twice by UFC Champion Cain Velasquez, it will probably be difficult for him to earn a fourth third rematch.

4. Travis Browne (4)

The meteoric rise of Travis Browne to a title shot match ended when Fabricio Werdum utilized his BJJ to neutralize Brown’s striking. For now Browne is going back to the drawing board and should probably consider some implementation of sprawl and brawl in his fight game.

5. Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva (10)

Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva is still on the UFC imposed suspension he got for elevated levels of TRT and will remain so for five more months.

6. Alistair Overeem (6)

Following his win against Frank Mir, Alistair Overeem is having surgery for an elbow injury he sustained during the fight with no return date.

7. Stipe Miocic (N/A)

Stipe Miocic is coming off of wins against high profile opponents Roy Nelson and Gabriel Gonzaga. Now he’s looking to play spoilers to Junior dos Santos’ rebound match. While it is unlikely he can do it his rise indicates that he does indeed have the potential.

8. Roy Nelson (N/A)

Having dropped his previous two fights to up and comers Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier, Roy Nelson finally rebounded against legendary Antonio Rodrigo “Big Nog” Nogueira. At this point expect another match up against a veteran, maybe against Mark Hunt.

9. Mark Hunt (9)

Mark Hunt currently has no fights scheduled anytime in the foreseeable future and really has the right to be upset about Silva’s TRT abuse.

10. Josh Barnett (5)

Since his UFC 168 loss to Travis Browne, Josh Barnett has been inactive and currently has no matches schedule anytime soon.

~ Contenders ~

The following fighters are listed as contenders: 11) Frank Mir, 12) Vitaly Minakov, 13) Gabriel Gonzaga, and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.
