Please note that Stefan Struve is ineligible due to inactivity. Also note the rankings are voted on and previous rankings are in parenthesis:

1. Cain Velasquez (1)

Cain Velasquez is currently filming The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America opposite future UFC 180 opponent Fabricio Werdum in Las Vegas. It should be noted that by the time the two face off in November, Velasquez will be ineligible for the rankings due to inactivity.

2. Fabricio Werdum (tied 2)

Like the UFC Heavyweight Champion, Fabricio Werdum is currently filming TUF Latin America and will face Cain Velasquez at UFC 180. Werdum’s ability to speak fluent Spanish is the reason why he is coaching the Latin America team opposite Velasquez’s Team Mexico.

3. Junior dos Santos (tied 2)

Junior dos Santos is currently recovering from the hand injury that forced him out of his TUF Brazil 3 Finale match against Stipe Miocic. It should be noted that the match with dos Santos and Miocic could still happen should the stars line and factors play in just the right way.

4. Travis Browne (4)

One can only assume that Travis Browne will be looking to get a rebound win after his loss to Fabricio Werdum sometime soon.

5. Antonio Silva (5)

Antonio Silva is still on his UFC imposed fight suspension and will continue to be on said suspension for another three months.

6. Stipe Miocic (7)

The reality of the matter is that Stipe Miocic’s match against Fabio Maldonado was a one sided tuneup late replacement match. However, Miocic mentioned that he is still interested in fighting against dos Santos in the future once dos Santos has recovered completely.

7. Alistair Overeem (6)

Alistair Overeem has voiced his desire to make a return at the UFC Fight Night event to take place at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan.

8. Roy Nelson (8)

The upcoming match between Roy Nelson and Mark Hunt is amazing considering that I made that suggestion in the last rankings. However, Nelson is arguably in Hunt’s court as he spent many an event in the Saitama Super Arena where UFC Fight Night 52 will happen.

9. Josh Barnett (10)

Josh Barnett currently has nothing scheduled and it’s quite possible we could see him facing the winner of Arlovski versus Schaub.

10. Mark Hunt (9)

It’s almost guaranteed that Mark Hunt will have the fan edge over Roy Nelson when the clash in Japan at UFC Fight Night 52 in September.
