Due to suspension and inactivity Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort are ineligible. 1/4/15 rankings in parenthesis:

1) Chris Weidman (1)

After another delay due to injury, Chris Weidman will finally defend his title against Vitor Belfort at UFC 187 this May 23rd on Memorial day weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

2) Lyoto Machida (2)

Lyoto Machida will be continuing his momentum after his C.B. Dollaway win by fighting Luke Rockhold.

3) Luke Rockhold (4)

In probably his greatest test since facing Vitor Belfort, Luke Rockhold will fight Lyoto Machida on April 18th as the main event at UFC on Fox: Machida vs. Rockhold in Newark, New Jersey at the Prudential Center.

4) Ronaldo Souza (3)

Ronaldo Souza will continue his upward momentum by facing Yoel Romero at UFC on Fox 15 on April 18th. Souza may very well earn a title shot with this win or he may find himself back in the hunt vying for a shot.

5) Yoel Romero (6)

Having pulled a comeback of the year against Tim Kennedy, Yoel Romero will face Ronaldo Souza on April 18th. Romero’s rise in his short MMA career has been nothing by spectacular considering the skills he’s shown.

6) Gegard Mousasi (7)

Gegard Mousasi will look to make up for his controversial win against Dan Henderson by facing Costas Philippou at UFC Fight Night: Edgar vs. Faber on May 16th to string a winning streak together.

7) Tim Kennedy (5)

Following his disappointing loss to Yoel Romero, Tim Kennedy currently has nothing scheduled at the moment. However, he is safe for the moment because of his record with the promotion.

8) C.B. Dollaway (10)

C.B. Dollaway will be looking to rebound from a December loss against Michael Bisping at UFC 186 on April 25th. This would be a good chance for Dollaway to gain a win over a big name opponent and gain some traction.

tied 9) Thales Leites (N/A)

In his first fight of the year, Thales Leites was able to pull a Fight of the Night performance against Tim Boetsch. This has been one of Leites’s best performances to date and certainly better than his Silva fight.

tied 9) Mamed Khabilov (9)

Mamed Khabilov currently has nothing scheduled this year in KSW or in any other promotion as of yet. The question of why Khabilov hasn’t signed to the UFC or other big name promotion is quite puzzling at the present.
