10) Bobby Lashley

Bobby Lashley fought Josh Appelt and finished him at Bellator 162 on October 21st in Memphis, Tennessee. It is currently unknown when Lashley will fight next and against whom it will be though a title fight maybe coming soon.

9) Quinton Jackson

After over a year off, Quinton Jackson fought against and defeated Satoshi Ishii in a heavyweight affair at Bellator 157. He is now set to face off against Muhammed King Mo Lawal in a rematch of their first close bout.

8) Daniel Cormier

Daniel Cormier defeated Anderson Silva at UFC 200 in a non-title bout and will soon face Anthony Johnson on Saturday, April 8th at UFC 210 in a rematch of their first affair now set in Buffalo, New York.

7) Will Brooks

Following his departure from Bellator, Will Brooks went even last year while making a splash in his UFC debut against Ross Pearson and losing his second match against Alex Oliveira at UFC Fight Night: Lineker vs. Dodson.

6) Tyron Woodley

Tyron Woodley had a good year by beating Robbie Lawler for the UFC Welterweight Championship by knockout then defending it against Stephen Thompson to a draw. He will face Thompson again at UFC 209.

5) Neil Magny

It was a good year for Neil Magny who went 2-1 this year with his sole loss coming to Lorenz Larkin at UFC 202. His two wins were rather notable against Hector Lombard and Johny Hendricks in March and December.

4) Anthony Johnson

Anthony Johnson defeated the likes of Ryan Bader and Glover Teixeira to earn a rematch to the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship currently held by Daniel Cormier at UFC 210 on Saturday, April 8th this year.

3) Phil Davis

Four fights into his tenure as a Bellator MMA, Phil Davis won the Bellator MMA Light Heavyweight Championship his last fight. This included two wins in 2016 against Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal and Liam McGeary.

2) Demetrious Johnson

Demetrious Johnson defended his UFC Flyweight Championship twice this last year against the likes of Henry Cejudo and Tim Elliot. He is now one fight away from tying Anderson Silva‘s record of UFC title defenses.

1) Angela Hill

Despite getting cut from the UFC late year in 2015, Angela Hill compiled a 4-1 record in 2016, including winning and defending the Invicta FC Strawweight Championship and going getting one win and one loss back in the UFC.
