This was certainly an exciting night of fights and this weekend has exciting fights as well. So with that here’s a review and previews of UFC fights:

UFC Fight Night: Hunt vs. Bigfoot

Main Event: Mark Hunt vs. Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva

Prediction: Silva by strikes. Result: Majority draw. Without a doubt a fight of the year candidate and a rare welcome draw to say the least. These two fighters are probably average for the heavyweight division but they definitely put on a performance for the Australian fans.

Co-main Event: Mauricio “Shogun” Rua vs. James Te Huna

Prediction: Te Huna by strikes. Result: Rua by strikes. Rua proved that he’s still got some good fights in him and possibly another title run. It’ll be interesting to watch him should he move down to middleweight to challenge whomever.

Ryan Bader vs. Anthony Perosh

Prediction: Bader by strikes. Result: Bader by decision. Bader not only won but according to one judge won in dominating fashion for the win.

Pat Barry vs. Soa Palelei

Prediction: Palelei by strikes. Result: Same. As I said Palelei is on what is now a ten fight winning streak and he will probably continue.

Dylan Andrews vs. Clint Hester

Prediction: Andrews by strikes. Result: Hester by strikes. Hester has an exceptional striking game and he utilized that against Andrews.

Julie Kedzie vs. Bethe Correia

Prediction: Kedzie by decision. Result: Correia by decision. Correia made a splash in her promotional debut but it was unfortunate Kedzie lost.

Overall score: 3/6; 0.5 prediction percentage. 0.5 for Shogun, 0.5 for Bader, 1 for Palelei, 0.5 for Hester, and 0.5 for Correia’s decision win.

UFC on Fox: Johnson vs. Benavidez 2 Preview

Main Event: Demetrious Johnson vs. Joseph Benavidez

Prediction: Johnson by decision. Johnson has been the dominant flyweight champion and I doubt he will loose to a man he’s defeated before.

Co-main Event: Urjiah Faber vs. Michael McDonald

Prediction: McDonald by strikes. McDonald has fought for the title before and I think he has what it takes to beat Faber for another title shot.

Chad Mendes vs. Nik Lentz

Prediction: Mendes by decision. Mendes has only been winning since his loss to Jose Aldo for the title and is looking for another title shot.

Joe Lauzon vs. Mac Danzig

Prediction: Lauzon by submission. Lauzon’s submission game is one of the best in the lightweight division and it’s better then Danzig’s.
