Please note the rankings are voted on by a panel of MMA Freak writers. Also note the previous rankings (9/22/14) are listed in parenthesis:

1) T.J. Dillashaw (1)

T.J. Dillashaw probably won’t fight until at least February 2014 but when he does fight it will most likely be against Dominick Cruz.

2) Renan Barao (2)

In order to even be considered for a title shot again, Renan Barao needs to fight Mitch Gagnon at UFC Fight Night 58 on December 20th. While Barao would still be in title talks, he will have to wait in line for Dominick Cruz to get his crack at T.J Dillashaw for the belt.

3) Urijah Faber (3)

Urijah Faber will be facing Francisco Rivera at UFC 181 on December 6th. This will only add to an already promising fight card.

4) Raphael Assuncao (4)

While Raphael Assuncao does have a case for a title shot against T.J. Dillashaw, he will have to wait in line of the various challengers.

5) Michael McDonald (5)

Michael McDonald has been inactive since his fight with Urijah Faber with no real reason. When he will return is currently a mystery. It he doesn’t fight before the 2nd of December, McDonald will become ineligible for the rankings and his chances at a title shot diminish.

6) Takeya Mizugaki (8)

There were talks about Takeya Mizugaki being in a potential title challenger position, Dominick Cruz made him look like an amateur.

7) Marlon Moraes (9)

Marlon Moraes had a relatively easy fight against TUF alumni Cody Bollinger, since original challenger Josh Hill got injured.

8) Dominick Cruz (N/A)

Without a doubt there was no sign of ring rust in Dominick Cruz when he dominated Takeya Mizugaki right into a title fight. Dana White has said that Cruz earned a title shot against T.J. Dillashaw, which would probably take place around Superbowl weekend.

9) Bibiano Fernandes (7)

Bibiano Fernandes has only fought once this year for One FC. With their steadily increasing schedule one would think he’d get more title defenses in, but the promotion may have its reasons. Just the same he will probably defend his title at least once before years end.

10) Joe Warren (N/A)

Once again Joe Warren has proven that even at age 38 he can pull upsets against elite level fighters such as Eduardo Dantes. He also became the first two division champion in Bellator if one were to exclude tournament champions over the years.

The following fighters received votes and as such are considered contenders at bantamweight: 11) Eddie Wineland, Eduardo Dantes.
