Due to inactivity, Rashad Evans is ineligible for the rankings. Previous rankings (2/22/15) are in parenthesis:

1) Jon Jones (1)

Jon Jones will be defending his title against Anthony Johnson at UFC 187 on Memorial Day weekend. Jones has faced some challenging opponents in the past, however Johnson is a completely different animal right now.

2) Anthony Johnson (2)

Following a dominant performance, Anthony Johnson will be facing Jon Jones on May 23rd at UFC 187. Johnson has been on fire since returning to the UFC last year and as an underdog every fight is fighting for a title.

3) Daniel Cormier (3)

Daniel Cormier will be facing Ryan Bader at UFC Fight Night: Cormier vs. Bader on June 6th in Louisiana. It will be interesting to see how Cormier reacts to his first loss and whether he can blaze back with a renewed drive.

4) Alexander Gustafsson (4)

After being so handily dominated, Alexander Gustafsson hasn’t been scheduled for a rebound fight just yet. There are some assumptions that Gustafsson was not himself in his last outing, though he looked pretty normal.

5) Phil Davis (5)

Phil Davis supposedly just lost the last fight of his contract with the UFC, essentially making him a free agent. One would think that Davis’ will be resigned, but considering the situation in the UFC anything could happen.

6) Ryan Bader (6)

Following a fight against Phil Davis, Ryan Bader will try to continue his momentum against Daniel Cormier. Unfortunately he will have to fight Cormier on his home turf of New Orleans, Louisiana.

7) Glover Teixeira (7)

Glover Teixeira had to pull out of a fight with Rashad Evans and it is unknown when he will fight again. This would certainly be a challenging fight for both men who are coming off of long layoffs and several injuries.

8) Ovince St. Preux (9)

Looking to continue his momentum, Ovince St. Preux will face Patrick Cummins on April 18 on UFC on Fox. Considering the upset he was able to pull against Mauricio Rua, he has much confidence coming his way.

9) Liam McGeary (N/A)

Liam McGeary defeated Emanuel Newton to become the new Bellator Light Heavyweight Champion. This win actually earned McGeary a long term contract extension as his contract was coming to an end at this fight.

10) Emanuel Newton (8)

He may have lost in his last outing, but expect Emanuel Newton to be on the rebound in the near future.
