Due to suspensions Yoel Romero and Lyoto Machida are both ineligible. Previous rankings are in parenthesis:

Top 10 MMA Middleweights (7/30/16)

1) Michael Bisping (1)

Michael Bisping is now set to face former adversary Dan Henderson at UFC 204 on Saturday, October 8th in Manchester, England. Their previous meeting back in 2009 resulted in a loss to Bisping which he’d like to avenge.

2) Luke Rockhold (2)

There is no word on when Luke Rockhold will be fighting again considering he supposedly has a knee injury. An immediate title rematch has been ruled out as Dan Henderson is currently set next against Michael Bisping.

3) Chris Weidman (3)

Chris Weidman is still out recovering from his herniation. There is still no word as to when he will be back, but the MMA rumor mill has constantly been listing him as a possible participant for the historic UFC 205 in New York City.

4) Ronaldo Souza (4)

Supposedly Ronaldo Souza will be getting the next title shot after his dismantling of Vitor Belfort at UFC 198. That is of course after Dan Henderson and Michael Bisping fight for the title at UFC 205 in Manchester.

5) Vitor Belfort (5)

Vitor Belfort is currently set to face Gegard Mousasi at UFC 204 in Manchester, England on Saturday, October 8th. A win would keep him in the title picture against Michael Bisping which makes sense considering his win.

6) Mamed Khavilov (6)

The highest ranked middleweight outside of the UFC, Mamed Khabilov is the KSW Middleweight Champion.

7) Anderson Silva (7)

Anderson Silva is pretty much in a career rut as he lost to champions in two weight classes in recent outings. His best choice would probably be to retire and be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame and do Portuguese commentary.

8) Gegard Mousasi (9)

Riding a two fight winning streak, Gegard Mousasi is fighting Vitor Belfort at UFC 204 on Saturday, October 8th. The fight might keep Mousasi relevant in an increasingly crowded title picture in the middleweight division.

9) Uriah Hall (8)

Uriah Hall will be fighting Derek Brunson on September 17th at UFC Fight Night: Poirier vs. Johnson in Texas. The fight is notably the first event to be hosted in Hidalgo, Texas by the top reigning world MMA promotion.

10) Derek Brunson (N/A)

Rising prospect Derek Brunson will be fighting Uriah Hall at UFC Fight Night: Poirier vs. Johnson on Saturday, September 17th. This is probably Brunson’s greatest test to date as Hall is a highly skilled tactician in the Octagon.
