After last year’s highly successful Fight Night: Mcgregor vs Brando, the UFC will make its return to Dublin.

The42 reported this morning that Ireland’s own Joseph Duffy will take on 14th ranked lightweight Dustin Poirier. The two are set to headline Dublin’s card, set to take place Saturday, October 23rd at the 3arena.

Duffy (14-1), the 27 year old Tristar fighter is widely known for being “The last man to beat Connor McGregor”. Not long after his submission win over “Notorious”, Duffy took a 3 year hiatus from MMA to focus on his boxing career (notching a 7-0 record as a pro). Since his return, the Donegal native has been virtually unstoppable, going 4-0 as a professional and 2-0 inside the UFC. Fighting Poirier is a giant step up especially considering Duffy is Headlining a card on only his 3rd UFC appearance.

Poirier (18-4) left the Featherweight division after suffering a TKO loss at the hands of Connor Mcgregor, but has continued his solid UFC career. The American Top Team striker has been wreaking havoc in the stacked lightweight division, with first round finishes of both Carlos Diego Ferreria, and Yancy Medeiros.

No other fights have been announced at this time.
