The writers of MMA Freak have submitted their votes on what the top 10 upsets of the year were. Because of the varied opinions some of the fights submitted didn’t make it onto the list but are listed in the honorable mentions.

Another match which was shocking in that Anthony Johnson dominated Alexander Gustafsson so soundly.

6) Fabricio Werdum upsets Cain Velasquez via submission at UFC 188: Velasquez vs. Werdum on June 13th.

2) Conor McGregor upsets Jose Aldo via knockout at UFC 194: Aldo vs. McGregor on December 12, 2015.

One would think that fourteen months off would produce ring rust but it was hard to see if there was any considering that it took only thirteen seconds for Conor McGregor to find Jose Aldo‘s chin and send him to the mat.

1) Holly Holm upsets Ronda Rousey via knockout at UFC 193: Rousey vs. Holm on November 15, 2015.
