Episode 8

At first Cory Hendricks starts to have issues with his shoulder and arm overall and decides to take it easy over the next few days.

However, things get bad when he can’t even move or sleep properly due to the pain. He is visited by a professional acupuncturist who gives him acupuncture, cupping therapy and gua sha which all help.

Unfortunately the pain comes back to a degree that Cory visits the doctor who gives him an MRI and theorizes that based on the symptoms that Cory may have a herniated disc but is not certain.

Then in the fight, Abdel Medjedoub from Team Claudia and Josh Stansbury from Team Joanna face off.

In the first round, Abdel pushes Josh up against the cage and attempts to take him down to Claudia Gadelha‘s dismay as she told him not to go for the take down but to use his superior boxing.

The second round is similar except that Josh is able to kick Abdel in the head and almost finish him. However, Abdel recovers and again presses Josh against the cage but to less effect.

At the end the match is scored a majority decision for Josh who guarantees that there will be no shut out.

Episode 9

Before the fight between Team Joanna’s Ashley Yoder and Team Claudia’s Kate Jackson, Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Claudia Gadelha are shown training for their upcoming fight.

Later Ashley talks about how her brother’s death is what motivated her to begin training in MMA in order to vent her frustrations.

Cory Hendricks is later told by the doctor that he simply has inflamed nerves and that he will be able to fight assuming he can deal with the pain.
